Modern, cool, and ready to dance, this couple hosted a most festive wedding at the Bently Reserve in San Francisco. Lucite chairs, peacock feathers, crystal trees, and dark nail polish were striking reminders of the Bride's bold style and personality. Quotes from silly movies such as Anchor Man were sprinkled throughout the event, a reminder of the groom's playful nature. The Bride and Groom's special talent? Knowing all of the world's capitals! Each table number had a world capital, and the escort cards named the country. The cake floated atop a bed of crystals with damask frosting and layers of sugared feathers. Because the couple loved to dance, the dance floor was a focal point of the event, flanked by lounge areas for all to observe the couple's mad moves. !N{ As seen in San Francisco Brides Magazine }
Photography by: Weeks PhotographyOld-time glamour with quiet hints of Asian and French influences were central to this classically beautiful wedding held at the Kohl Mansion. The ceremony aisle was inspired by lanterns floating on the Kyoto River and featured large votives wrapped in custom screenprinted Japanese Washi paper. A cherry blossom motif in shades of subdued pink and brown lent a delicate touch. A crystal ornamented wish tree filled with words of wisdom from guests was a thoughtful way to start the couple off in their new union. During the cocktail hour at the historic Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco’s Merchants Exchange Building, a patisserie with macarons and madeleines provided an oh-so-sweet treat.!N { As seen in Brides Northern California Magazine. }
Photography by: Lisa LefkowitzThe Beaulieu Garden in Napa Valley played host to this casual and cheerful wedding. The Bride's love of sunflowers and cooking became essential to the theme of this gorgeous getaway. Guests were able to sip from the couple's signature drink, a minted iced tea in mason jars, as they perused the Bride's favorite cookbooks in the lounge area. A market place featuring flip flops, favors, sunflowers and fresh fruits was the center attraction during cocktail hour. Jenny's most beloved herbs played a key role in the wedding as table names and made special appearances in the floral arrangements. For each guest, "Jenny's favorite thyme" was tied up in a muslin sack along with “Good Cookin' with Jenny and JC”, a selection of recipes printed on colored craft paper. A splendid day of naïve innocence and pure joy.
Photography by: Gertrude & MabelHeld at the deYoung Museum, this wedding showcased the couple's appreciation of modern art and was also a blending of backgrounds. The Groom was Chinese and the Bride Russian. The color red as well as bamboo and birch were incorporated throughout the event as symbols of the different countries. The program resembled a deYoung admission ticket complete with a pop art rendering of the couple’s faces. Because the Bride and Groom were also tea connoisseurs, there was a magical tea tasting table with a custom-built bubbling backdrop. The bubbles were an homage to the clusters of circles that dot the exterior of the museum itself. The evening ended with dancing in the Café, where the whole room was dramatically lit in red.
Photography by: The Image Is FoundFrench eclectic styling with accents of Chinoiserie furnished this fanciful wedding held at the Flood Mansion. Inspired by the Viceroy hotel in Santa Monica, bright lemon yellow and silvery blue were anchored with modish black and white throughout the affair. Whimsical lovebirds and dramatic fonts played across the invitations and place cards. Yellow orchids mimicked gleeful birds and rested on white lacquered branches. Framed silhouettes, which read "Le Marié" and “La Mariée,” husband and wife in French, hung on the back of the happy couple's chairs. The dessert table hosted chic canisters and birdcages along with a Croquembouche, a traditional French cream puff wedding cake. A decidedly dramatic fête.
Photography by: Anna KuperbergThis lush indoor garden-themed wedding abounded with butterflies and Asian botanical surprises at the Bently Reserve in San Francisco. Beautiful blooms and butterflies adorned the invitations and menus, which were made of thinly sliced wood. Sheer ivory drape and hundreds of iridescent butterflies covered the entire back wall of the Reserve. The 32-foot wide head table showcased Asian-style pottery, sprays of orchids, and large pagodas with alighting butterflies. The guest tables featured butterflies in mid-flight suspended from floral arrangements. Escort cards rested on twigs, and enchanting gobo lights projected garden foliage onto the majestic ceiling and dance floor. Even the cake was designed as a garden with blossoms and butterflies dancing up the layers!
Photography by: Angie SilvyFeminine glamour and classic Hollywood charm fit right in at San Francisco's City Hall. A grand chandelier hung on the invitation design as well as over the custom-built mirrored cake table, made to look like a vanity with pearls and crystals strewn about. Silver ball chargers, cross-patterned china, silver-gilded crystal glassware, and tall trees filled with masses of orchids and dangling crystals created regal tablescapes. A custom-made plush velvet wall adorned with ornate picture frames served as the backdrop for escort cards. A collection of tufted banquettes, silver bubble floor lamps, and Louis chairs created a popular lounge destination for guests to enjoy the band and sip some bubbly at the end of this dazzling soiree.

Owner and founder, Gloria Wong Tritasavit, comes from a background in design and is obsessive about color, composition, style, and how visual elements can stir the heart. Born and raised in San Francisco, she set her sights on a career in fashion at an early age. After receiving a Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in fashion design from the renowned Academy of Art College in San Francisco, she started her career in fashion by designing for DKNY Jeans in New York. She later ventured into merchandising at bebe, and then took on a role as a designer at Levi Strauss & Co.
Upon planning her own wedding in 2006, Gloria fell in love with the world of event design and soon converted her creative energies from apparel to weddings. She started an event planning company called Sash & Sugar and found a coordinator to partner with. Gloria focused on the design and presentation aspects of the events while her partner managed logistics. When Gloria and the coordinator parted ways, Gloria decided to reposition her company from event planning to solely event design, thus launching Gloria Wong Design. "Hiring Gloria was definitely the best investment we made in our wedding!! We interviewed a dozen wedding planners, and as soon as we met Gloria we realized that she is in a league of her own. The results simply blew us away - we never expected our wedding planning process to be THIS fun and the end result THAT stunning and perfect.
Gloria is an exceptionally talented designer and planner - you'll be lucky if you get to work with her! She took the time to truly get to know us as a couple and our tastes and preferences, and then translated this into very personal designs and ideas that blew our minds away. Our guests are still talking about the look and feel and the experience of our wedding - no detail went unnoticed! Gloria did a great job balancing big impact ideas with small important details while keeping us on budget. On top of being such a design star, she was also an absolute joy to work with. Attentive, proactive, upbeat, positive and super fun. We seriously miss the wedding planning process because of Gloria."

"New brides never know how much work it takes to plan a wedding. I never realized all the small details that needed to be done just to get a base-line wedding set up. I felt like I was always making a decision, and without your guidance, I'm sure I would have forgotten something important along the way. Your experience was essential.
In addition, unless a bride has a really good eye and/or sense of design, she really can't know if the items she is choosing really go together. You were my sounding board for great style. I would throw ideas or send inspiration photos to you, and you would either seamlessly incorporate it into the entire theme or question how it would fit in. I needed someone whose style I trusted, as well as a planner who was strong enough to challenge me because not every idea is a good idea. Moreover, you take great sense of pride in your work, and thus you would never lead a bride astray or plan even an "average" wedding.
Your organizational skills are flawless, and your work product shows that you are truly invested in the wedding. No other planner we had interviewed was as prepared as you. In addition, no one else offered us a mood board, a continuously updated ideas gallery, or a floor plan. Every single time we received a new ideas gallery or floor plan, JC and I would get more and more excited about the wedding!
Finally, you are meticulous, detailed-oriented, and a tireless worker. You understood how busy both JC and my schedules were. You would do a lot of the heavy research and narrow down "to-do" lists for us (i.e. websites, props to purchase, etc.). You really took to the time to understand your clients and the best way they work. For us, that made the planning process that much better.
Gloria, you're amazing at what you do. JC and I would always comment on your incredible work-ethic every single time we received one of your emails. As a person in business, I respect not only your creative abilities, but also how professional you are. I never felt like you shirked your duties, and I certainly made the perfect choice in selecting you."

"We had the pleasure of working with Gloria on our wedding in San Francisco at the Flood Mansion. From the very beginning, Gloria impressed us with her creativity, energy, attention to detail, and responsiveness, and this lasted throughout the entire period of time that we worked with Gloria.
Wedding planning can be a very difficult and frustrating process for all parties involved, but Gloria’s attitude and excitement level were never less than exemplary and certainly helped us keep the momentum throughout the process. There were many times when we genuinely thought that Gloria was more excited about out wedding than we were!
Gloria helped us create and develop an overall theme for the wedding based on our own tastes and interests, and worked with all our vendors to create a design, down to every single little detail, that ultimately resulted in a highly personalized and cohesive wedding that reflected us as a couple – which was very important to us.
Our memories of the wedding will remain for us forever and we certainly have Gloria to thank for that.

"Gloria had an innate ability to understand our vision of the wedding and intuitively knew what details would help us best convey this vision to our guests. She was diligent about keeping our budget in mind when suggesting necessary elements to make our wedding a reflection of our personalities and lives. When we had a hard time making decisions and prioritizing items, she helped make sure that we stayed focus on our original vision, and prioritized accordingly. Gloria's systematic method of determining our stylistic taste and her personable style made the planning process enjoyable and fun, as opposed to the daunting task it could have been.
We are extremely thankful for the effort she put into the detail work - from the color scheme and linens, to paper goods and flowers, each detail was unique in its own right but tied into the overall theme perfectly. My favorite part was when she incorporated responses from her design questionnaire into our ideas gallery, making our wedding a little more personable for our huge guest list!
Hiring Gloria is a decision we will never regret and we'd do it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Gloria!!!

"The design elements and concepts Gloria created, all tied together in our Asian aquatic theme. Round Japanese lanterns were strewn above the outdoor fountain behind the ceremony altar. The aisle way was edged by tall cylinder vases with floating flowers. Cream colored parasols were stocked in bamboo baskets for those who needed shade from the sun. Adorable ceremony programs in the shape of fans were custom printed, with layered lavender and chocolate brown satin ribbon looped around the handle.
Gloria created a unique escort card presentation, with flowers, bamboo and river rocks. And my most favorite design element was the place cards, designed to be a small paper vellum lantern with a glass votive and light inside. Guests found their names on these unique little lanterns as they were seated.
All these details were apparent to the guests, and we kept hearing compliments and raves throughout the night."
